NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday directed the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the alleged theft of offerings at the Ayodhya Ram Temple to submit a status report on the investigation within two weeks.A bench comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana issued the direction while hearing a batch of petitions seeking a court-monitored investigation into the alleged theft case.During the hearing, the Uttar Pradesh government informed the bench that, as suggested by the Supreme Court, it would add a forensic auditor to the SIT, which currently comprises three IPS officers.(Developing story)
