Thousands of students who were eligible for post-matric scholarships and fee reimbursement in Uttar Pradesh during the 2025-26 academic session but could not complete their applications because of technical problems will get another opportunity to apply. The Social Welfare Department has announced that the scholarship portal will reopen from September 1, 2026.The move is aimed at ensuring that eligible students do not lose financial assistance because of technical difficulties encountered during the application process. The fresh opportunity will cover eligible students across SC, ST, OBC, general and minority categories.
Over 3.16 lakh students affected by technical issues
According to Social Welfare Minister of State (Independent Charge) Asim Arun, as many as 3,16,057 students were unable to receive the scholarship in 2025-26 because of technical reasons.The affected students include 31,836 students from government institutions, 37,795 from government-aided institutions and 2,46,426 from private institutions.The department has said that every student who meets the eligibility requirements will be given the benefit of the scholarship.The development is particularly significant for students from economically weaker backgrounds, for whom scholarship assistance and fee reimbursement can play an important role in continuing their education.
Scholarship money to be transferred between September 29 and October 2
Students who successfully complete the fresh application process and meet the required eligibility conditions are expected to receive the scholarship amount directly in their bank accounts.The department has announced that the scholarship amount will be transferred between September 29 and October 2, 2026.Students should therefore ensure that their application details, bank account information and other required documents are accurate before submitting the form.

Students who could not apply earlier because of technical issues can follow these steps once the portal reopens:
- Visit the official UP Scholarship and Fee Reimbursement Online System portal when applications reopen on September 1.
