​Deva actor Rohullah Mehdi has been arrested in an alleged social media drug network case. Police seized 28 grams of MD drugs worth Rs 5.60 lakh and are probing the suspected supply chain.​

Actor and model Rohullah Mehdi has been arrested by the Kashimira Police Crime Branch in connection with an alleged narcotics network operating through social media platforms in Mumbai’s Mira Road area. Police seized 28 grams of MD drugs, valued at around Rs 5.60 lakh, and arrested two people in the case, as reported by NDTV.According to FIR No. 437/2026, Mehdi has been named as the main accused. Police said they received information that MD drugs were allegedly being sold through platforms including Snapchat and WhatsApp.

Police use decoy customer to trap alleged drug supplier

Following the tip-off, the police reportedly arranged a trap using a decoy customer. A man identified as Kasif was allegedly called near Thakur Mall in the Dahisar Check Naka area to deliver 28 grams of MD.Police caught Kasif during the alleged drug transaction and questioned him. According to the police, he subsequently named Mehdi during the investigation.Acting on the information, officers arrested Mehdi outside a studio in Malad, where he was reportedly shooting at the time.

According to police, Mehdi is originally from Budgam district in Jammu and Kashmir and had been living in Goregaon, Mumbai. The actor and model played the character Rohanj Bhai in actor Shahid Kapoor’s action thriller Deva. He has also appeared in several web series.Following his arrest, Mehdi was produced before a court, which remanded him to five days of police custody.

Police probe possible links to film industry

The investigation is now focused on tracing the alleged drug network and determining whom Mehdi may have supplied drugs to. Police are also examining whether any other individuals from the film industry have links to the case.The operation was conducted by the Kashimira Police team under the guidance of DCP Zone-1 Rahul Chavan. Police said the investigation remains underway and that more names could emerge as the probe progresses.
