Shah Rukh Khan‘s famous Mumbai home, Mannat, may soon be ready for the family to move back in. The Bandra bungalow has been under repair and renovation since the family moved out in 2025. Reports say the work is almost done and should finish in the next two to three months. Until then, Shah Rukh, Gauri Khan, and their children Aryan, Suhana and AbRam are living in two duplex apartments in Pali Hill. If things go as planned, the family could move back to Mannat by the end of 2026.
Shah Rukh Khan reveals renovation timeline
According to Hindustan Times Real Estate, Shah Rukh revealed that the renovation at Mannat should finish within two to three months. Should this timeline hold, the actor and his family could return to their iconic sea-facing bungalow by December 2026. The ongoing renovation reportedly includes a significant expansion of the Mannat annexe, which previously had around six floors and now has two more added. The existing six floors of the Mannat annexe have also undergone repairs and renovation. However, no additional floors have been added to the main bungalow because it is a heritage property and modifications of that scale are restricted.
Shah Rukh Khan’s heritage bungalow stays untouched
The main Mannat bungalow’s Grade-III heritage status rules out major structural alterations, so it hasn’t seen any new floors added, unlike the annexe. The extra construction has been limited to the annexe at the back of the property, which has significantly expanded the overall footprint while keeping the original heritage bungalow exactly as it was.
Shah Rukh Khan may return home by year-end
As the renovation reportedly nears completion, Mannat may soon be ready to welcome the Khan family back home. If everything goes according to plan, Shah Rukh Khan and his family should be back in the iconic Bandra residence before the end of 2026.
Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film ‘King’
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan is set to star in ‘King’ alongside daughter Suhana Khan. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film is scheduled to release in theatres on December 24, 2026.
