Nandamuri Balakrishna’s ‘Dada’ has created fresh interest with its title glimpse, which gives viewers a quick introduction to his character and the film’s setting. The glimpse opens with a Hindi voiceover introducing Balakrishna before showing Mumbai’s coastline. The actor appears in a cool retro look, complete with a cigar, leather jacket, and white sunglasses. The visuals suggest that the story could be set in the 1980s, while the title and presentation point towards a powerful gangster character. The glimpse also refers to him as the “King of Chaos”, adding to the larger-than-life image built around his character.
‘Dada’ glimpse highlights Nandamuri Balakrishna’s powerful dialogue and action
The glimpse takes a sharp turn when Balakrishna is shown surrounded by a large group of police officers inside what appears to be a police station. Seated calmly in the middle of them, he delivers punchlines with his trademark confidence before the video cuts to several fast-paced action shots. One of the key dialogues has him saying, “నాకు గురి పెట్టడానికి ఒంట్లో పొగరు.. వేలికి ట్రిగ్గరు ఉంటే సరిపోదు. బుల్లెట్స్కి బలుపుండాలి. గన్స్కి గట్స్ ఉండాలి (To take aim at me, arrogance in your body and a trigger on your finger are not enough. Bullets need power, and guns need guts.),” highlighting the fearless nature of his character. The background score also repeatedly emphasises the name Dadashabeb, which could be the character’s name in the film. The combination of swagger, action and retro styling gives the project a distinct look.
Gopichand Malineni ’s ‘Dada’ set in Mumbai with an action-heavy story
‘Dada’ is written and directed by Gopichand Malineni, who is teaming up with Balakrishna again after ‘Veera Simha Reddy.’ The new glimpse indicates that the filmmaker is exploring a period action drama with Mumbai as an important backdrop. Arvind Kashyap is handling the cinematography, while Thaman S is composing the music. Gopichand Malineni recently directed the Hindi action film ‘Jaat,’ which also featured music by Thaman. With its retro setting and gangster backdrop, Dada appears to be taking a different visual route while retaining the mass elements associated with Nandamuri Balakrishna.
About ‘Dada’ cast and release date

Samuthirakani, Sarath Kumar, Abhimanyu Singh, Upendra Limaye, Manish Wadhwa and Swasika are also part of the cast. Nayanthara was earlier linked to the project, although her name does not appear in the title glimpse credits. Currently in its final stages, ‘Dada’ is scheduled to reach theatres on December 24, making it a Christmas release. The glimpse has now set the stage for a full-fledged action entertainer built around Balakrishna’s new gangster avatar.
