Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna are set to reunite in the upcoming period action drama ‘Ranabaali’. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on October 16, 2026, and the makers have now announced a four-part documentary series ahead of the release.

‘Ranabaali’ makers share update

The makers recently shared an Instagram post, titled ‘Never Forget – The Truth Series’. It is expected to explore the forgotten chapters of history connected to the world of ‘Ranabaali’. The makers shared the details on social media, with each episode focusing on a different subject.

About the ‘Ranabaali’ chapters

The first chapter, titled ‘The Famine We Forgot’, will be unveiled on September 28. The poster describes the chapter with the line, “A man made genocide. To starve, to enslave, to conquer.”The second chapter, ‘The History We Forgot’, will arrive on September 30. It will explore questions about why the railways were built and how history was changed or remembered over the years.The third chapter, ‘The Men We Forgot’, is scheduled to release on October 2. It will focus on men who refused to bow to British rule.The fourth chapter is titled ‘The Last Load’. The makers are yet to announce its release date and have said that it will be revealed soon.Speaking about the film, directed by Rahul Sankrityan, the film revolves around against the Madras Famine of 1876-78 which is one of the darkest periods in Indian history.

Cast of ‘Ranabaali’

Vijay Deverakonda plays the titular character, Ranabaali, a Telugu man from Rayalaseema who rises against British rule. Rashmika Mandanna plays Jayamma, his wife and partner in his struggle. Hollywood actor Arnold Vosloo, known for playing Imhotep in ‘The Mummy’, also stars in the film. He plays Sir Theodore Hector, an English oppressor.

‘Ranabaali’ release details

‘Ranabaali’ is planned as a major festive release during the pre-Dussehra weekend. The film will release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam on October 16, 2026.
