NEW DELHI: Mobile covers imported from China could become costlier as India’s trade remedies authority recommended a five-year anti-dumping duty of $72 per 1,000 pieces. The Directorate General of Trade Remedies found that low-priced imports hurt domestic manufacturers, limiting their ability to raise prices despite higher costs. Chinese imports accounted for 51% of Indian consumption during the investigation period of April 2024 to March 2025. Domestic producers struggled with low capacity utilisation.
