Asian markets were mixed, with South Korea and Taiwan among the markets showing gains, while Hong Kong and Australia traded lower. The Hang Seng Index fell 141.87 points, or 0.56%, to 25,271.25. South Korea’s Kospi gained 133.69 points, or 1.91%, to 7,129.08, while Taiwan’s index rose 184.81 points, or 0.39%, to 47,511.08.
Japan’s Nikkei was up 120.73 points, or 0.18%, at 66,520.57, while Shanghai gained 9.773 points, or 0.25%, to 3,942.473. Shenzhen was almost flat, down 0.02%. Australia’s ASX 200 fell 0.43%, while New Zealand’s NZX 50 declined 0.63%. Malaysia and Singapore also traded lower, while Thailand’s SETI was unchanged. India’s Nifty 50 was unchanged at 23,779.15.
