Asian markets traded largely higher, with most major regional indices in positive territory.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index gained 126.93 points, or 0.5%, to 25,438.14. South Korea’s KOSPI was the strongest performer among the key markets, rising 1.33%, or 86.96 points, to 6,649.68. Singapore’s Straits Times Index advanced 0.61% to 5,778.92, while Shanghai Composite climbed 0.42% to 3,958.026 and Shenzhen added 0.18% to 13,635.321.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose 117.94 points, or 0.18%, to 64,443.58. Taiwan’s index gained 0.13% to 46,225.82, while Malaysia’s benchmark edged up 0.27% to 1,713.43. Australia’s ASX 200 advanced 0.38% to 9,012.7. New Zealand’s NZX 50 slipped 0.05% to 13,923.97, while Thailand’s SET Index was unchanged at 1,575.07.
